When you search in Zipwhip, you are searching for contacts. You cannot search for text in the body of a message.
You can search for contacts in two places: at the top of the Conversation panel or in the Manage Contacts dialog box. When you search for contacts in the Conversation panel, you are searching only the contacts that are currently displayed in the panel. When you search in the Manage Contacts dialog box, you are searching the entire Contact list. This article describes searching for contacts in the Conversation panel.
To search for a contact, you can type the letters of the contact’s first or last name, or type the contact’s telephone number. If you search by typing the letters of the contacts first or last name, then the list of potential matches gets smaller as you type more letters. If there is a match, it appears in the list. If there is no match, then all of the conversations disappear from the Conversation panel. The same behavior occurs if you search by typing the telephone number.
To search for a contact in the Conversation panel:
1. In the Conversation panel, slide the scroll bar to the bottom of the panel to load all of the conversations.
2. In the Search box at the top of the Conversation panel, type the contact’s first name, last name, or telephone number.
3. When the contact appears in the list, click the contact to see the most recent message thread with the contact.
