What is a scheduled text/how do I send a scheduled text?

Last Updated: Nov 17, 2016 09:12PM PST

To send a scheduled text message in the Zipwhip application, you must open the Send Scheduled Text message box.

To open the Send Scheduled Text message box:

     • On the Zipwhip toolbar, click the New Scheduled Text button.

This use case assumes that the number of characters in the message is less than the 250 character maximum. This use case also assumes that there is no web address in the message and no custom signature.

1. If you are not logged in to the Zipwhip application, then log in now.
2. On the Zipwhip toolbar, click the New Scheduled Text button. The Send Scheduled Text message box opens.
3. In the Contact box, do one of the following to add a contact to the message:

     • In the Contact box, start typing the contact’s name, and then select the appropriate contact when it appears in the auto-suggest list.
     • In the Contact box, start typing the contact’s telephone number, and then select the appropriate contact when it appears in the auto-suggest list
     • In the Contact box, click the Contact dropdown list, and then select the appropriate contact from the list.

4. Move the pointer to the message box and click anywhere in the box.
5. When the cursor appears in the message box, type a message that has less than 250 characters. Remember, letters, numbers, and standard keyboard symbols, and spaces count as characters.
6. To select the date the text message is sent, click the Calendar button, and then select the appropriate date. You can use the calendar controls to change the month and year.
7. To select the time the message is sent, click the Time button, and then select the appropriate time.
8. Click Send.
9. The message appears in the Message Thread panel with the delivery date and time displayed at the bottom of the message box. When the delivery date/time arrives, the status changes to Sending.
     a. If the message is delivered successfully, then the status changes to the delivered date and time.
     b. If the message is not delivered successfully, then the status changes to Error Sending and a pop-up message appears containing an error code.

Any replies to the sent message appear in the Message Thread panel. When the reply message arrives, an Incoming Message icon appears in the appropriate Conversation box.
